Community Gardens
We help communities transform unused or neglected land into welcoming green spaces where people can grow, learn, connect and take pride in their local area.
From first ideas to practical delivery, Greenspace SOS works with residents, volunteers, schools, housing providers and local partners to create spaces that are useful, sustainable and rooted in the community.
Turning unused spaces into community assets
Community gardens can bring new life to land that has been overlooked, underused or difficult to maintain.
Greenspace SOS helps communities plan, create and care for green spaces that support growing, learning, wellbeing, volunteering and stronger local connections.
Residents and community groups
We work with local people to understand what they want from a space and how it can serve the wider community.
Schools and Youth Groups
We support practical outdoor learning, growing activities and projects that help young people connect with nature.
Local Authorities
We work with public-sector partners to improve local green spaces and support community-led environmental action.
Housing providers
We help housing organisations turn underused land into greener, more welcoming spaces for residents.
Funders and partners
We collaborate with organisations that want to invest in practical, visible projects with lasting community benefit.
Volunteers
We create opportunities for people to get involved, learn new skills and contribute to spaces they can be proud of.
What a Community Garden can include
Every space is different. We shape each project around the site, the people using it and the level of support available.
A project may include raised beds, growing areas, seating, wildlife planting, composting, paths, workshops, volunteer days, community events and ongoing maintenance support.
More than a garden
A community garden is not just about plants. It can give people somewhere to meet, learn, volunteer, grow food, improve wellbeing and feel more connected to where they live.
By working with communities rather than simply building for them, Greenspace SOS helps create spaces that people are more likely to use, value and care for in the long term.
