Delivering Social Value

Working with organisations across South Wales to create meaningful benefits for people, communities, the environment and the local economy.

For Greenspace SOS, social value means ensuring the benefits of our work extend beyond the immediate service or project being delivered.

As a non-profit Community Interest Company, we use our work to support local communities, create opportunities for training and employment, improve the environment and contribute to the local economy.

We also work with businesses, housing providers, contractors and other organisations to help deliver their own social value commitments, turning them into practical projects and measurable outcomes across South Wales.

Our work creates practical benefits for communities beyond the immediate service being delivered. By reinvesting commercial profits and working with partners and funders, we help improve community spaces, support people who need additional help and create opportunities for local people to get involved in improving the places where they live.

Community Benefit

We create opportunities for people to gain practical experience, develop skills and progress towards employment. Through our work with training providers such as ITEC Skills, learners can experience real working environments and develop pathways into employment and careers within the green industries.

Skills and Employment

We create structured opportunities for employees, volunteers and local communities to take part in practical projects with visible outcomes. From creating community gardens to planting, habitat improvement and environmental projects, we help organisations turn volunteering time into meaningful activity that benefits local places.

Volunteering & Engagement

We aim to maximise the wider value of the money spent with us by supporting local suppliers, paying the real Living Wage and delivering our work in an environmentally responsible way. Our approach helps keep more economic value within South Wales while contributing to greener, more sustainable communities.

Trusted to Deliver

Since establishing Greenspace SOS in 2023, we have built a strong track record of turning investment into practical projects and visible outcomes across South Wales.

We have directly secured approximately £57,000 in project funding, while also being trusted by partner organisations to deliver more than £250,000 of externally funded projects on their behalf.

This has enabled us to deliver community gardens, environmental improvements, outdoor learning spaces, volunteering opportunities and other practical projects in partnership with housing providers, funders, charities and community organisations.

Organisations are increasingly expected to demonstrate meaningful social value through the contracts, developments and projects they deliver. We can help turn those commitments into practical activity with visible outcomes in communities across South Wales.

We work with contractors, housing providers, developers, businesses and other organisations to design and deliver social value activity that reflects local needs and complements their wider project objectives.

This could include community greenspace improvements, environmental projects, corporate volunteering, opportunities for training and work experience, outdoor learning projects and other practical initiatives that create lasting benefits for people and place.

Whether social value forms part of a contract commitment, procurement requirement or your organisation's wider social responsibility goals, we can work with you to develop and deliver an appropriate programme of activity.
